We have launched a #bigdataforbloodcancer communication campaign. Data, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) are all abstract words, however, these concepts are much needed and very valuable for researchers to develop personalized treatments for patients. Analysing large datasets can lead to new and better treatment options for patients, and make sure that these treatment options are available faster. It can also make sure that existing treatment options and combinations become better and can be tailored more to the characteristics of individual patients. Using Big Data and artificial intelligence is the gateway to better medicine in hematological malignancies.
We hope to engage with you and with many non-professionals/professionals to explain how Big Data and AI can improve the lives of people with blood cancer. Moving out from the labs and hospital wards, we want to convey to you, patient communities and the general public how this exciting new field of research can contribute to better outcomes in hematology.
For September, October and November 2021, we have planned a range of online activities to inform patients and their families of the potential of Big Data analytics in blood cancer research.
Following Blood Cancer Awareness Month in September, and the specific Blood Cancer Awareness Days, we are launching the 1st World Big Data for Blood Cancer Awareness Day 2021 on 30 September 2021.
Individual awareness days we support in our campaign:
